Ricky first learned rugby while attending the University of New Hampshire during his Junior year.

He was fortunate to have excellent coaching and teammates and was one of three UNH players selected to represent the Collegiate Northeast All-Star Team at the National All-Star weekend in Boulder, Colorado in 2004.  Following that experience, Ricky retired from rugby to focus on developing his professional career as a Civil Engineer.  He played in one or two matches/tournaments per year with a UNH Alumni side that would later become the UNH Alumni Showponies.

Retirement ended abruptly and unexpectedly when he met Charles River on Marathon Monday at Cask N’ Flagon in 2008, went to practice the next day and never looked back.  Ricky is currently the President of Charles River and has served as Captain, Assistant Captain, Vice President, Social Secretary, and Field Secretary.  On the field, he has played primarily fly half for the past 5 years but has played every position #6 to #15 for Charles River.

He was voted as MVP following the 2011 season and was the recipient of the Dennis J. Sullivan Award following the 2012 season.  Favorite rugby moment(s): winning the Dennis J. Sullivan Award and the half-second of anticipation before the whistle blows to begin every match.
