Unsung Hero: Anne Beaumont
- This woman has served diligently on the eboard for many years and worked tirelessly as Match Sec to coordinate what we need from a city organization that has made things very difficult for us
- She, along with Cassie, pretty much ran the entire holiday card fundraiser, which was a huge part of the money raised in 2012; she worked on this for several months and was enthusiastic about it the entire time
- She has a great big-picture perspective of the strengths, weaknesses, and challenges facing this club and consistently provides poignant input
- She can always be trusted to tell you the hard truth
- She is a solid rugby player who has a great instinct for game play
- She inspires confidence in other team members when she’s on the pitch; her position requires her to do a lot of the work in the scrum even though she may not receive much credit
- She never complains on the pitch; she always just does her job
- She is an asset both on and off the pitch
Most Improved Player: Jen Garner
- This player joined the team two years ago and was sort of a sporadic member, eventually leaving due to other commitments
- We are so grateful that she decided to come back to us
- She has played almost every position in the pack without complaint
- She has become a pivotal part of the team; she confidently leads the B-side team in games and is a very consistent and dependable rugby player
- We have seen her fitness and knowledge of Charles River plays increase
- She is always asking questions, is ready to listen and wants to know more
- And she has simply outstanding rugby hair
Rookie of the Year: Alicia Scahill
- This rookie came to us because she didn’t feel that the other Boston teams were a good fit for her
- It became immediately apparent that River was the perfect team for her; she got our sense of humor, she always has great costumes for events
- She is enthusiastic about everything, whether it’s listening to coaching at practice, watching rugby on tv, or busting her ass on the rugby pitch
- She has played lots of different positions in the back line and has been a great addition to both the A- and B-sides
- She always gives 100% both on and off the pitch
Most Valuable Player: Susan Lackey
- Outstanding athleticism and leadership
- This woman is everywhere in a game; nothing gets by her – she tackles, she rucks, she steals the ball, all while making it look easy and graceful
- She has played multiple positions, willingly taking on roles outside of her comfort zone, all without complaint
- She is the epitome of a team player, always motivating everyone to give more and to fight just as hard in the last 5 minutes of the game as in the first 5
- She is always striving to be better, always ready to listen and to work harder
- She is very encouraging to all of her mates and works to involve the new players
- She has the ability to spot players’ uncertainties and helps take them away
- She has demonstrated great leadership on this team, both on the pitch and as an eboard member
- In that capacity, she has been extremely valuable in the success of this team financially
Rat Spirit: Lisa Natalicchio
- This woman has been completely dedicated to this club for many years
- She plays in every A-side game and on top of that either plays or refs the B-side game
- She plays a very difficult position with skill and poise

- She has worked very hard behind the scenes in many roles, such as President, Captain, Match Sec, & Treasurer
- She thoroughly loves this team & translates that love back to River in every way she can
Rat Spirit: Jehanne Junguenet
- This woman absolutely bleeds orange and green
- She has really pushed herself this season as Captain; she has worked very hard to teach us how to be better rugby players & she has busted her rat butt to be a fitter, faster, and stronger force on the pitch
- This woman is very inspiring to both rookies & vets with her attitude and determination
- She convinced Brian to help coach us and he has been an invaluable resource
- She’s always got a smile on her face and a corny joke up her sleeve
- She wins all the socials, especially the themed ones; she comes up with some of the most entertaining costumes I’ve ever seen
- She has the wonderful ability to bring the rugby community together and is an excellent representative for Charles River to other rugby teams everywhere
- She has been our fearless leader this past year & I’m excited to see what she’ll come up with this year
